A survey cited by Xactly CHRO Megan finds that 86% of CHROs say their role is changing significantly or dramatically due to AI. At Xactly, the HR function merged with IT to form a People and Technology organization under the CHRO. The company also built an internal AI coaching tool to help managers prepare for difficult conversations and handle compensation discussions, reducing HR time by one to two hours per manager per cycle. The author argues HR leaders must now govern digital workers alongside human employees, and recommends creating low-pressure environments, such as peer Slack forums, to encourage AI adoption through curiosity rather than fear.
