A report from AI company Anthropic finds that its employees have broadly shifted from performing tasks directly to managing AI agents that handle those tasks. According to the report, the company is making fewer junior-level hires as a result. Hiring managers, the report indicates, are now prioritizing judgment over technical expertise when evaluating candidates. For HR and recruiting leaders, the findings suggest that job design, competency frameworks, and early-career pipelines may need rethinking as AI agents become standard workplace tools. These are vendor-reported findings from a single organization and may not reflect broader workforce trends.
