SPARK Talent 2026 Opens With Sessions on AI Adoption and Workforce Scaling

The SPARK Talent 2026 conference opened in Orlando with sessions covering pressing workforce challenges. Ericka Portis, Director of Performance at Fanatics Betting and Gaming, warned against rapid overgrowth, walking attendees through strategies to prevent and mitigate capability debt when scaling organizations. Helene Tracey, Senior Director of Talent Development at Yelp, addressed gaps in AI adoption, arguing that stronger implementation frameworks are what most organizations are missing. Joan Peterson, VP and Leadership Coach at Bluepoint Leadership, closed day one by challenging HR professionals to shift focus toward building environments where employees can resolve challenges independently, rather than relying on HR to solve problems directly.
